Diploma of Vocational Studies
DVS is the common term used to refer to Diploma of Vocational Studies in Quebec. Students that want to apply to a vocational centre in Quebec must have the following requirements.
Secondary School Diploma (SSD), or Secondary IV English, French and Mathematics.
Travel sales students must have Secondary V English, French and Secondary IV Mathematics.
Automotive students must have GSM 232 as well as SSD or pass the General Development Test (GDT). The GDT can be administered to those who do not have the minimum requirements.
Without a SSD students wanting to take accounting, secretarial, hotel and home care must pass a GDT.

Vocational training is practical, hands on training which offers a broad range of skilled trades such as health care, construction, food services, manufacturing, tourism, agriculture and communications. Programs in vocational education offer:
- Low cost courses
- Excellent employment opportunities.
- Good salaries after completion of training.
