What Next?
Let’s get one thing sorted – you don't have to go on to any sort of post secondary education straight away if you don’t want to – remember it’s your future. If you have been offered a job doing something that you really like, or you have been offered an apprenticeship somewhere take it!
Here are some of the key points of what to do if you want to stay on in education….
I choose……Post Secondary Education
- Find out first what options you have for post secondary education. Do you want to go to vocational education, college or university?
- Once you have decided where you are going to further your education make sure you do the research on the courses that are offered and where, how much the course is going to cost and whether it is the right course for you.
- Consult with a careers advisor or database such as
www.canlearn.ca it will offer help on places to study, the cost and how to prepare yourself.
- Make a decision on where you would like to go to study and what schools are available in your area.
- Have a back up in case you don’t get the grade you want.
- Remember to apply early for the place you want the most and have 2 or 3 other choices just in case.
