Best Practices

What are Best Practices

Best Practices can and should be applied to all subjects in all schools. My Destiny will answer questions you, as an educator may have regarding best practices in the context of the Guidance Oriented Approach to Learning (GOAL) program. Remember that GOAL is about weaving together as many and as varied connections to a child’s life as possible among subjects belonging to different subject areas.

GOAL Handbook

Here you will find a handbook for the Guidance Oriented Approach to Learning (GOAL). This handbook has been written so that your school can approach the QEP using GOAL.

Personal Education Plans (PEP's)

Unfortunately, when a student goes out into the world of work the traditional High School Diploma does not communicate the soft skills a student has developed throughout their life. A High School Diploma will not tell an employer how proficient a student is at communicating, problem solving or working as part of a team, to list a few examples. That is why every student should have a Personal Education Plan (PEP) to demonstrate his/her "Employability Skills". A PEP will help a student create a more “complete picture” of their skills and accomplishments, by providing a thorough documentation of how they are reaching and exceeding their goals. It can also give the school information on how to help individual students.
