Art Gallery - Looking at a forest Mr. E's Project by Ben

When you look at a forest, what do you see?  I see trees, sticks, and leaves looking at me, but those trees, sticks and leaves play a bigger part than just looking nice.  Trees give out oxygen which people need to live, leaves will decompose and become earth for worms and rocks will become good homes for bugs and other living things.  So next time you think of it, thank nature for all its wonders!

Learning to Appreciate Nature - Mr. E’s Project by Jordi

On October 20th Mme Brault’s Grade 6 helped Mr.E to do nature art pieces. We were divided into three groups. The themes were forest, field and pond. We made beautiful art pieces with nature. We used moss, leaves, animal tracks, rocks and dried up flowers. At the end of the day we put back everything so it could decompose to make rich soil. This was a great activity because everyone was involved in the creativity of the art pieces. This was a great day!

The Big Acorn by Alena and Miranda

StudentsThe Big Acorn

In our sculpture we see a snake in the stick. Polka dotted leaves and big brown acorns sitting on leaves. We have birch bark tilted on rocks and colorful moss.

Our piece is of bark and raccoon prints together on white water moss surrounded by beaver chips, grass, flowers and most of all a maple leaf to represent our country, Canada.

Pixie Land by Mathilde, Audrey and Emma

Pixies love to float and fly in the tall grass. The moss on the rock makes perfect beds to sleep on and the berries are delectable snacks. Pixies are important creatures. We called this pixie land because of its unique background. Milkweed reminds us of pixies because of their fluffiness.

This reminds us of pixie land because of its delicateness. The tall grass is a hiding place, and the milkweed a toy. The sumac is pixies snack. Moss is like a trampoline, and the rock is their home.

A Little Slice of Everything by Mathilde, Audrey and Emma

This piece of artwork gives us a little slice of everything: milkweed, grass, rocks, sumac and a leaf with traces of an insect.

Variety by Nicholas

The curved root is like a snake. The tree is pointy, like a knife. The moss is soft like a blanket the green ivy sticks like glue. The colors look like autumn.

Thanksgiving by Kyle

It makes us feel like we are in the forest. The berries were hard to find. We found a leaf eaten by a caterpillar.  We found a stick with moss. When I see this, I’m thankful for what God gave us.

A Flower Bouquet by Becky, Melissa and Emily

StudentsFlower Bouquet

We put together a bouquet of flowers with leaves and other plants that looked pretty. We tied it together with a stem from a plant. A beautiful display from nature, giving off scents and aromas that are pleasing to all.
